“Rouge Baiser”
Collective FRAC exhibition with artworks of international artists from public and private collections.

“Rouge Baiser” (Red Kiss) exhibition offers an exceptional and unpublished display of the Frac’s collection: video installations, monumental sculptures, paintings, pictures… more than eighty works lead the viewer in a course in the heart of contemporary creation within an outstanding site. The title “Rouge Baiser” (Red Kiss) places the contemporary creation in the heart of an issue that had a great impact on Art History: body aesthetics. As a tribute to the main works of the collection, “Rouge Baiser” (Red Kiss) is a veiled message to the artist Fabrice Hyber and to his work “Un mètre carré de rouge à lèvres” (one square metre of lipstick) (purchased by the Frac in 1993), where the lipstick replaces the paint and becomes matter on the canvas. The exhibition is punctuated by groups of works, selected and gathered by theme. Dark spaces give rhythm to the course and lead the viewer to go through video and sound systems where he ends up staged in the very centre of the work. At last, the various spaces offer a many-sided and rich look on today’s art.
