Roof of the Panoramic Terrace
“Suite de triangles Saint-Nazaire 2007”
Felice Varini
The work, set up on 2 km, is the largest made by the artist. From a view point on the roof terrace, it embodies a “horizontal line” that embraces the landscape of the port and is superimposed on the architecture on which it seems to belong. Exit the point of view, is to witness the collapse of the figure.
Born in 1952, the work of the French-Swiss artist Felice Varini belongs to the field of painting. Since the 1970s, Felice Varini has been developing a work, which is located on the margins of pictorial creation. Whether closed spaces or urban landscapes, his painting is deployed outside the actual painting itself or even the architectural elements present. Here, the vastness of the landscape and its industrial identity challenged his capacity to explore space.
